FAQs
Your questions about this whole shebang, answered.
Where do you operate?
I’m based in the People’s Republic of Peckham, south-east London, but I’m portable! I’ll happily travel within a couple of hours of London, and I’ll go further afield for a little extra travel and/or accommodation fee - we can discuss that when you get in touch!
What’s the process for working with you?
I’m glad you asked! Whatever type of ceremony you’re planning, the first thing is to get in touch. Use my contact page, email, call or WhatsApp me – whatever you fancy. We can have an intro chat, zero obligations and completely free, to see if we’re all a good match. Then if you’d like us to work together (woohoo!), I’ll ask for a booking fee to secure the date (included within my overall cost). Once that’s paid I’ll get planning your ceremony, working closely with you and your loved ones to make it completely perfect.
Are your weddings legally binding?
No – celebrant-led ceremonies are not recognised in law in England and Wales. When people choose a celebrant wedding, they usually get married legally at a register office in the days or weeks prior to their proper big day. That gets the formal, paper-signing bit out of the way and costs around £60. Then we can have a super bespoke, personal ceremony, exactly as you want it!
Are you a Humanist celebrant?
Nope, I’m an independent celebrant – but I’ve had training and mentoring similar to a Humanist celebrant, from the lovely folks at The Celebrant Circle.
Humanist celebrants won’t incorporate anything religious in a ceremony and while I’m personally not religious, I am totally open-minded about weaving in spiritual or cultural traditions that are important to you, in line with my feminist and inclusive values!
Which other suppliers do you recommend?
Fab question. Take a look at my Instagram to see who I've worked with in the past, but huge shout-outs to the photographers who feature on my website. Jess & Isabelle's wedding snaps are by Steven Haddock. My headshots and Dan & Adam's snaps are by Sidey Clark. Amy & Laitsi's picture is by Hannah Barnes. Emma & Mat's picture is by Story and Colour. And last but by no means least, my website and 'About me' video were made by the utter legends at Jamabuck.
